Created by a professional fly fishing guide and instructor with over thirty-five years of experience, this course is designed to teach you everything you need to know about the art of fly fishing! Consequently, the course is divided into five separate sections consisting of all of the knowledge you need to have prior to wading into the art of fly fishing such as what gear you need to get started fly fishing and how to find places to fly fish, knowledge on how to choose appropriate fly rods, fly reels, fly lines, fly leaders, and fly fishing knots, proprietary knowledge on trout and their environment including the author's unique view of trout mentality, more proprietary knowledge on trout foods and their imitations, additional proprietary knowledge on how to approach a trout lie, knowledge on how to properly present a fly to a trout and, instruction in both basic and advanced short range fly casting techniques.
However, rather than regurgitating all of the same old fly fishing information that so many fly fishing instructors present, this premium fly fishing course is based upon the lifetime of hours the author has spent on the stream actively observing both insect and fish behavior and thus, this course not only contains proprietary fly fishing information that you will not find elsewhere, it also presents the information in an unique manner and from an entirely different point of view that has proven to be extremely successful at teaching students the art of fly fishing! For instance, it includes such information as the author's unique approach to fly selection called the Three-Color Attractor System and the Six-Color Imitator System as well as the author's unique approach to trout mentality as encompassed by such lectures as “How a Trout Sees His World” and, “The Food vs. Energy Equation”, in addition to the author’s unique approach to teaching the art of fly casting. Thus, by the end of this course, you will not only know everything that you need to know to become a successful fly fisherman, you will have access to proprietary fly fishing knowledge that only other students of this course have!
By enrolling in this master fly fishing course, you not only get all of the information presented in each of our five mini fly fishing courses, you also receive an added discount of $40.00 over the cost of purchasing each mini course seperately!
My name is Bill Bernhardt and I will be your instructor for the duration of this course. For those who are not familiar with me, I was born in small town called Lenoir (named after Confederate General William Lenoir) which is located in western North Carolina in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. In addition, my father, who spent most of his life working for the U.S. Forest Service, was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist and he instilled in me from an early age his conservationist values and his love of the outdoors. Therefore, I often credit him for ruining me when I was little but, I am eternally grateful to him for doing so! Furthermore, due to my father’s employment with the U.S. Forest Service, I have lived and fished in some of the most exotic locations the U.S. has to offer such as, Juneau, AK., Jackson Hole, WY., and Marathon, FL. (which is located in the Florida Keys). In fact, I started camping at age three and hunting and fly fishing at age eight and, I became fascinated with primitive skills at about that age as well and have been so ever since. Thus, I now have considerable expertise in firearms, reloading, hunting, fishing, archery, cutlery, wilderness survival, and herbal medicine in addition to camping and kayak touring which are my other passions. Furthermore, I have been a professional fly fishing guide and instructor for over fifteen years now and I am also a professional hunting guide. Therefore, in addition to my local fly fishing instruction and guide service, I presently guide bow hunting group trips for feral hogs and deer each winter on a privately owned barrier island located off of the coast of Georgia.
Plus, I am also a professional outdoor writer and author thus, not only am I intimately familiar with the outdoor lifestyle, I thoroughly enjoy writing about it; especially when it allows me to pass my knowledge along to others who find it useful. In addition, I am a member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association and I have been an official contributor to Southern Trout fly fishing magazine (www.southerntrout.com) as well as Surplus Today magazine. Plus, I have written over 1,500 articles for various clients since starting my career as a professional outdoor writer four years ago! In fact, the ability to pass my accumulated knowledge and experience on to a wider audience is what prompted me to start my online academy!
